Did the late November driver update for Windows 8 fix the issue? I had the "same" setup and the "same" experience as The Drum.
I believe my firmware update was October, however, it was ASUS Z87I-DELUXE Broadcom WLAN latest available through Asus. I spent a week on Wi-Finot believing that it was possible that I could not determine the fix. I was confident that it was not a hardware issue.
