Lynnfield processors are a small step down from that uber-high end Bloomfield based processor architecture. The three most significant changes can be found in dual-channel memory, locked multipliers and lower TDP.

I test fit the Thermalright Ultra Extreme to the board without issues. Again this part of the board was well thought out.

There is ample room to install or remove memory modules even with large video cards installed in the system. The north bridge is non-existent on this board and all the north bridge functions are split between the CPU and the south bridge.
